ANTLR Studio 1.1 Released!

Thursday, March 23, 2006

Its finally here! ANTLR Studio 1.1 has been released.

This release contains support for the latest antlr 2.7.6, lots of bugfixes and also a few enhancements to the existing features.

The 'Whats New' page can be found here-

With antlr 2.7.6, ANTLR Studio has truly become a part of Antlr itself as Antlr now contains some files required by ANTLR Studio for the grammar debugging to work. Previously those files were provided in a special version of the redisributable antlr jar, which was named as antlr 2.7.5.1 instead of 2.7.5.
But ironically, if you look at the redistributable version of antlr provided with 1.1, it is again 2.7.6.1 instead of the usual 2.7.6. Well that is because the original antlr 2.7.6 contained a critical bug which could create problems for antlr users, so instead of waiting for months for 2.7.7 to be released it was decided to put the fix in this version only.

So as you can see, if you stick to ANTLR Studio you get the most bug free version of Antlr ;)

Oh, and also you must have noticed the Flux Debugger is now called Fluid Debugger due to trademark problems. I know I had previously announced it would be called Fuse Debugger, but then I found out of another project called 'Fuse' at dev.java.net, so finally 'Fluid' was adapted.

So what are you waiting for, go download it now from here -

Existing users can upgrade for free. Upgrade instructions can be found here -

Have fun and enjoy ANTLR Studio 1.1 :)
